Education & Awareness Raising

Who can enter this category? 

Education projects that have successfully raised awareness of energy efficiency issues are invited to enter this category.

What are the judges looking for?

The judges are looking for clear evidence of the success of the project in reaching its target audience, its impact in terms of behavioural change and how the project has been evaluated. Entrants are advised to include as much quantitative and qualitative evidence as they can, such as how many individuals have been reached by their project.

Who has won in the past? 

Previous winners of the Education & Awareness Raising category include:

  • 2006 Beaumont Community Primary School - an environmentally constructed school described by the judges as "a wonderful example of how a school can use its buildings to inspire its children and the wider community in conserving our precious environment";
  • 2007 Atkins Group School Education Project - an educational project to reduce energy use, to engage pupils in environmental issues around energy and to help them develop skills for life.
  • 2008 Woodcraft Folk - A Woodcraft Folk project led by young people to educate their peers on how they can make a difference on climate change
