Companies that have developed and implemented new products that have significantly contributed to a reduction in energy use.

What are the judges looking for?

The judges are looking for new and innovative approaches to reducing energy use, from large scale energy use to everyday activities. It is advisable to provide any data you have to provide evidence of the actual energy savings achieved through the implementation of your product.

Who has won in the past?

Previous winners of the Energy Efficient Products category include:

  • 2006 Conditionaire - an ingenious air conditioning device that saves electricity and reduces carbon emissions;
  • 2007 B2B Product Dyson Airblade - An innovative hand dryer that uses 'blades' of unheated air to dry hands in 10 seconds, consuming up to 83 percent less energy than conventional dryers.
  • 2007 B2C Product Moixa Energy's USBCell - a rechargeable AA size battery that charges by simply plugging in to a USB port, reducing the inconvenience, expense and waste of conventional rechargeable batteries.
  • 2008 Bright Ideas Global Ltd - gadget which helps computer users save electricity.
