Who can enter this category? 

This category focuses on new services that have significantly contributed to a reduction in energy use.

What are the judges looking for? 

In this category the judges are looking for services that that demonstrate innovation, benefit a large number of people or organisations and new ways of approaching existing challenges. The judges are particularly keen to see facts and figures that demonstrate the actual savings achieved by the implementation of the service.

Who has won in the past?

Previous winners of the Energy Efficient Services category include:

  • 2006 Utilicom (Southampton District Energy Scheme) - an integrated energy scheme using geothermal energy and combined heat and power to provide electrical power, hot water for heating and chilled water for air conditioning;
  • 2007 Cumbria Energy Efficiency Advice Centre - the Improving Cumbria's Energy (ICE) project brought more reliable and better quality insulation services to local residents.
  • 2008 Integrated Environmental Solutions Ltd - develops software and offers consulting services which help designers create low-energy buildings.
