Young Carbon Champion
Who can enter this category?
This is a brand new category for 2008 and will highlight the young person, of 18 years or under, whose actions have done the most to fend off the negative effects of climate change within the UK.
What are the judges looking for?
The judges are looking for inspirational young people who have taken positive steps to combat and reduce the impact of climate change through their own activity and by encouraging others to be more environmentally conscious.
Who has won in the past?
New category introduced in 2008
- 2008 George Brooke, nominated by Woodcraft Folk - The Woodcraft Folk won a hat-trick of awards on the night. As well as the National Champion award, they also won the Education and Awareness Raising category, whilst their nomination George Brooke took the new Young Carbon Champion award. The judges praised the organisation for "a truly wonderful example of young people taking the environmental lead - a very inspiring and a very worthy overall winner".
